Cornering
When adjusting your character's stats, pay special attention to cornering; slaloming is the easiest way to lose a good lead.

POV
While it's easy to skip past them, replays can offer invaluable info about the courses that you won't see from your third-person POV.

Hard Turns
Use hard turns sparingly (L1 and R1); although they are necessary in spots, too many can blow your course time in the space of a few seconds.

Successfully complete all ten courses on any stage with all five standard characters using the same saved game file to unlock Mr. Chicken as a playable character.

Game music
Play track two and higher of the game disc in an audio CD player to hear music from the game.

Final Fantasy Tactics PlayStation 1 Cheats

Best Combination
One of the best combinations of characters in the game also needs good skills and equipment. Your main team should always have: Ramza, Orlandu, Agrias, Beowulf, and Mustadio.

For Ramza, make him master the monk class, then turn him into a lancer and master that class, too.

For Orlandu, you can try making him a monk. just make him have the 'equip sword' ability. He can kickass with his monk abilities, even better than Ramza. Make Orlandu learn all of these skills and then turn him back into a holy swordsman. use the monk skills as a secondary skill.

For Agrias, fo the same thing you did for Orlandu, except that her monk skills aren't as strong as everybody else.

For Beowulf, make him learn all of his temple knight skills and then turn him into a samurai. Learn all of the skills, and then turn him back to the temple knight. The skills should be useful, especially the 'kiyomori' sword skill.

For Mustadio, do the same thing you did with Ramza. At the start of the game, though, you might want him to learn all of the snipe skills and then become a master chemist. this is a good combo for early stages.

Note: When using Orlandu, Agrias, and Beowulf, make sure you duplicate the Excalibur sword and give one to each of them. It will give them the ability to go first plus hurt more with their attacks.

Chicken Trick
For this you'll need either a mediator or an oracle. A mediator is best. First learn any skill that lowers brave points. Then all you have to do is lower someone's brave points below 10. They'll turn into a chicken. They can't attack, they just run away.

NOTE: They gain 1 brave point every turn, so keep it under 10 or they'll turn back.

Deep Dungeon "Lights On" Trick
If you have been to the Deep Dungeon in chapter 4, you will notice there are no lights. In order to turn them on follow this procedure:

1. destroy all but one enemy and keep him n stop or sleep.
2. keep choosing "Wait" for all of your team
3. pretty soon, the defeated enemies will turn into crystals and will light up the room.

Defeat Velius
To defeat Velius, bring along at least one summoner that knows Lich, a chemist with a Mythril Gun, and anyone with a strong attack (like a knight or a ninja.)

First, move within four spaces of Velius and use wave fist. Then you should get another turn. Use wave fist again and then jump across the water on the right.

Velius should get his turn next and he'll use Cyclops. While he's charging, move your guys away from the target. If he targeted a certain person, attack him directly with that person. Hopefully, you'll have a summoner left. Cast Lich (It'll hit him for around 500, and he has 1000hp)

By now he should be almost dead. Just use anything you can to finish him off.

Defeat Wiegraff
To defeat Wiegraff at Riovanes Castle, become a monk and learn WAVE FIST, CHAKRA and MOVE-HP UP. A Bracer will help as well.

Start out by getting as close to him as you can. Then use wave fist. He will then use Lightning Stab and run away. DON'T FOLLOW HIM. Run back to where you started and use chakra. He will then move to where he started. Now repeat all this until he's dead.

Defeating Balk
Balk is a difficult enemy to beat. At first glance, this battle in Murond Death City looks fairly simple: Balk is standing in the midst of four monsters (one of each of the following: Behemoth, Hyudra, Hydra, and Tiamat). You find out pretty quickly that this battle isn't going to be one of the easy ones.

Here's my take on how to beat Balk and his crew of beasts.

First, use the sword duping trick to make a number of "Excalibur" and "Save the Queen".

Change Ramza's job to Knight if you don't have him there already, and equip both the swords stated above (must have the Two Swords ability from the Ninja job class [900 JP]). This will automatically put him in [Haste] and [Protect].

Have whatever ability you want for your secondary action ability. Use Blade Grasp for your Reaction ability, Two Swords for Support ability, and Move-HP UP for Movement.

NOTE: This combination of abilities and items works well with ANY character, but you may not have spent enough time with everyone, having Ramza the only one capable.

For the rest of my team, I included Mustadio as an Engineer (with Mythril Gun), Orlandu as Holy Swordsman (with Excalibur and Save the Queen if possible), Agrias as Holy Knight, and a Ninja.

Equip the best armor you have (Reflect Armor works OK here). The Defense Armlet is the best accessory to have (so Balk can't use his Snipe skills on you), but Rubber Shoes (accessory) are useful when Balk tries to shoot you with his Lightning-aligned Blast Gun. Use whichever is handy, but equip the Defense Armlet(s) on your best character(s).

Use Mustadio's "Snipe" ability on the monsters to paralyze them. Pick each one off in turn with Ramza and the Ninja going up close with Two Swords, while Agrias and Orlandu get them with Lightning Stab (or the best skill you have).

Note: You can just attack the Behemoth until its health is "Critical". It'll leave you alone. The three other monsters can hit you with their firey breath (and from fairly far away), so make sure you kill them off completely.

You can't paralyze Balk, so you have to concentrate on surrounding him. He runs away easily and can hit you with his Blast Gun, so go after him quickly (once you've eliminated the monsters). Try to break his Blast Gun first with Orlandu's Hellcry Punch. After that, he's easy to defeat with ANY ally. Good luck!

Duplicate Weapons
Set the Ninja "Two Swords" skill on anyone. Equip a shield in their right hand, and the item you want duplicated in their left. Nnow go to a shop that sells the items you want duplicated, choose "BEST FIT" and buy them. Next, go to the formation screen and remove the items. You should now have two of the item you had in the left hand.

For example, to duplicate Excaliber, go to Lionel castle's shop. You'll get a second Excalibur for only 10 gold!

Easy Level Gain and Job Points
Before you can do this you'll need to learn ACCUMULATE and (if possible) the JP-UP skill. You also need at least one monk with the CHAKRA skill for this to work.

Walk across any green dot until you are attacked, then kill all but one enemy. Next, find five squares that form an + and are on the same height level. Have the monk stand in the center with all other characters in the adjacent squares. Use accumalte over and over and when your attacked just use chakra to gain back your health. Repeat as desired.

Equipment Tip
When fighting battles against other humans, be sure to check their equipment. Sometimes they have items not available in stores. Use a mediator to invite them into your party and strip them after the battle, or use a thief to steal their belongings.

Gain 5 or more Levels in One Fight
You know how you get exp with one hit? What if your character is so strong, it kills with one hit. What if you can hit someone over 20 times without your guidence and safely return home. What you need is a wizard, and an oracle or mediator.

What you do is you turn your enemies into frogs. It is time consuming, but it is worth it. (You can increase chances by using oracle "pray faith." Once that is done. and I know this sounds weird, turn your strong character into a frog. Then with oracle or mediator, put him into berserk. This will allow him to fight on auto-battle without running away. Keep your character well healed.

Move the rest of your characters far away from the fight. Frogs VS Frogs. Put them on auto battle in "Run like a rabbit" mode so they don't interfere. They shouldn't interfere.

Leave it on over night. By morning that character will rise 5-10 levels, and have over 2000-5000 jp points.

Get Cloud
This tip must be done during Chapter Four. Not that you should have about six empty spaces in your formation screen before attempting this.

Go to Zeltennia Castle and listen to the rumor called "Cursed Island"
Buy a flower from Aeris at Zarghidas Trade City then go to Goug machine city with Mustadio. The screen will fade and go to a scene of Mustadio, Ramza and a steel ball.
Go to the bar in Goland Coal City and listen to the rumor of the "Ghost of Colliery"
After this, go to Lesalia Imperia and the screen should shown a scene of a bar. When you leave, invite Beowulf to join your party.
Now that you have Beowulf, go to Goland Coal City and you will fight 4 battles here and save Reis. After you save Reis you will get a Zodiac Stone that will trigger the steel ball.
Return to Goug Machine City again and add the Robot to your party.
Now that you have the robot, go to Nelveska Temple. You will fight another robot kill him and you will recieve a stone that will bring Cloud to your world.
Now go back to Goug Machine City and you will trigger the time portal machine and it will suck Cloud from the future bringing him to your world.
Now go to Zarghidas Trade City and save Cloud from the thieves that are punking Aeris. Note: if this part didn't work make sure that you killed Dycerag and his Zodiac Soul Adramelk.
When Cloud joins your party all he can do is defend and attack. You'll need to find his Materia Blade so that he can use all of his limit attacks from Final Fantasy VII.
The Materia Blade is located in the Bervania Volcano. Set your party's on Move-Find Item Then go to the highest tall rock and go to the top of it.

How to get the Chaos Blade
On level nine of the Deep Dungeon you should fight a team of ninjas. Ready your CATCH ability. If you're lucky, one of the ninjas will throw a Chaos Blade at you. If you catch it you get to keep it!

Immortal Female
To have a female that cannot turn into a crystal or treasure box, you must have the Chantage perfume (stolen from Meliadoul in Chapter 4) and a character skilled as a ninja, or have a Vanish Mantle as an accessory.

Put the Chantage perfume on any female character, and make sure the Ninja has the reaction skill of Sunken State (or equip him/her with the Vanish Mantle)

Go into battle, and hit the Ninja until he uses Sunken State (unless he has a Vanish Mantle) then make your Ninja run away after it is transparent (not acting!)

You will notice that your female character, after dying will be revived as soon as her AT reaches 100. This will happen every time she dies! It is better to have someone like Agrias use this technique!

Instantly Kill Undead
To instantly kill an undead (ghouls, skeletons, etc), simply throw them a Phoenix Down. You will never miss and they'll die instantly!

Warning: When you kill undead this way a timer will appear. If you don't finish the game before the timer reaches 0 the undead will rise again.

Mime Job
The requirement for the job mime is level 8 item user, level 8 beginner knight, level 5 summoner, level 5 talker, level 5 Fu-sui-shi (Element user) and level 5 dragon knight.

Mini-Games - Japanese
Sometimes when you go to the bar and accept a mission, you will get a book. You can use that book to play a little mini game. There are four books in all.

Note: This tip only works in the Japanese version.

More Powerful Ramza
For a more powerful Ramza, have him master the squire class then switch him to the ninja class and have him master that too. Then return him to the squire class and equip him with the two swords ability. Because of his special squire abilities he can wear heavy armor and helmets. Because of his natural H.P bonus in the squire class his max H.P should go up almost 100 H.P! This tip works best in late ch.3 to ch.4.

NOTE: When you get T.G Cid at the end of the 3rd. chapter, duplicate his excalibur and put one in each of Ramza's hands. If he is at a good level and has a high attack power, he can attack for 350+ points of damage each hit!

Raise Bravery Permanently
When you reach chapter two, purchase the Square ability CHEER UP for Ramza. Once you've acquired it, go into battle and use it on everyone on your team. It will temporarily raise their BRAVE by 5 points, and provide a permanent 1-point increase.

You can get your Brave up to 97. This works great if you have the Blade Grasp skill because the enemies will only have a three percent chance of hitting you!

Ultimate Summon
After beating the battle in the holy land of Myurond, go to the seaport Wo-jirius. Following an short event you can go into Dieve dungeon, and from the tenth floor of the basement you will be able to learn the ultimate summon (equivalent to Knights of the Round from FFVII.)

Weigraf and Velius: Two Birds with One Stone!
When you encounter Weigraf for the last time(just before he becomes Velius) you cankill him easily by following these instructions:

Make sure Ramza is a Squire with two sword ability or a Ninja with HP Restore and the support skill Guts equipped.

When you start the battle it's just you (Ramza) and Weigraff. Don't attack him, instead keep away from him and use Yell and Accumilate repeatedly when it's your turn.

Eventualy this will raise your speed and level high enough that you don't have to worry about his Lightning Stab or Earth Slash attack.

When you are getting 3 to 4 consecutive turns in a row (Check the AT list) wait until the beginning of the next cycle then attack. Your two-sword ability should kill Weigraff in one turn and Velius will be dispatched before anyone else even gets a turn.

This should make what was the hardest battle in the game quite simple.

Zodiac Stones
Aries, acquired after defeating Wiegraf.
Taurus, Found hidden in Goug Machine city.
Gemini, acquired after beating Duke Elmdor in Limberry castle.
Cancer, acquired after beating the steel giant.
Libra, in the possession of thunder god Cid.
Scorpio, acquired after vanquishing Draclau.
Sagittarius, The high priest gives this stone to Meliadoul.
Capricorn, Acquired after defeating Dycedarg.
Aquarius, found in the deep coal mine in Goland.
Pisces, given to Alma by Izlude while he was dying.
Serpentarious, Elidibs has it in the last deep dungeon level.
Leo, this stone is acquired by killing Vormav.
Virgo, Altima possess the last stone in the Graveyard of Airships.

Ultima skill
When you go to limberry castle turn Ramza into a squire. Then when you fight with Elmdor and his two female assassins make Ramza get hit by a magic attack from the assassin and when it is cast it should be ultima. If Ramza lives through it you will learn the ability. Therefore your squire job will be mastered.

Unlimited weapons
When you can access the second and third floor of the Deep Dungeon side quest you will notice that you can fight Ninjas. Make sure everyone is equipped with the catch ability and kill all the ninjas but the male one. He will eventually throw Excaliburs and even a Chaos blade at you to add to your inventory. Just kill him and do the battle over again to obtain more of these powerful weapons.

God Ramza
God Ramza is an incredibly powerful Ramza with or without weapons. To get him, first you must master Squire, Monk, Samurai, and Knight. You must also be at the highest job level with these classes. Set up Ramza like this:

Monk Class
Secondary Skill:Guts
Reaction:Blade Grasp
Support:Equip Armor
Movement:Move +1

Constantly use Scream in battle and equip Ramza with the Bracer as an Accessory and eventually you'll end up with a Ramza that does up to 999 damage on human Units and is almost untouchable.

Omega Ramza
This is the most powerful setup for Ramza. It only works in Chapter 2 or further. It requires mastery of Ninja, Squire, Time Mage, and Samurai. For the best results, get to highest job level for these four classes. After these requirements have been fullfilled, set up Ramza as listed below:

Job: Squire
Secondary Job Command: Math Skill
Reaction: Blade Grasp
Support: Two Swords
Movement: Teleport

Also attach a PA-increasing Accessory to him and raise his permenant Brave to 95-100. Once you accomplish this, Ramza will be able to do devastating damage, block almost every physical attack, attack a second time just in case he doesn't kill the enemy with the first hit, and move up to 13 spaces in one turn. If you use this setup after getting Orlandu and copying his Excalibur, you can make Ramza be protected from Holy damage and strengthen his Holy spell when using the Math Skill version, thus making him strong enough to take out 5 Black Chocobos on his own.

Shinobi job
The Shinobi job isn't a job that requires you to attain certain job levels. It is actually a Ninja/Samurai/Lancer/Geomancer combo. Here is how to set up a Unit as a Shinobi:

Ninja Job
Jump (Lancer)
Blade Grasp (Samurai)
Attack UP (Geomancer)
Ignore Height (Lancer)

For best results, use the Easiest Job Mastering Method to obtain the required skills for a Shinobi much quicker.

Solo Ramza Challenge Recommendations
This is an optional challenge. The challenge is to complete the game using only Ramza. It is very easy to do, but at times it can be difficult. There is a complete strategy guide to the SR Challenge on GameFAQs. Below is a list of the best method of completing this challenge.

1.Try to go through the game without going into random battles. If a random battle occurs, reset the game.

2.Before removing units, remove all equipment from them. This way, just in case equipment gets stolen, you'll have spare equipment.

3.Master the Calculator job as quickly as possible. It becomes very useful later on in the game.

4.Use the MP Switch/Move-MP Up combo in almost every battle you are in. MP Switch allows you to take MP damage instead of HP damage if you have any MP left, and Move-MP UP makes sure you have at least some MP left. MP Switch will activate very often no matter how little MP you have.

5.The first level really requires that you have 2 Chemists other than yourself in the battle for healing, so it really doesn't count as a SR Challenge battle. Also, in the same battle, if Delita doesn't kill the Squire that attacks him first on his second turn, reset the game as the Chemist will heal that Squire and all the opponents will swarm you.

6.If you die, reset the game unless there's a guest Unit close by who knows Phoenix Down of the Chemist job and has Item as the secondary skill. If they fail to heal you on the first chance, they won't attempt to revive you through the rest of the fight and will let you turn into a crystal.

7.The Yell/Accumulate combo will be required a lot in the beginning. By those two skills ASAP.

If you follow these procedures and use the strategy guide, then you can beat the game in around 13 hours with only the main character.

Easiest Job Mastering Method
Note: This only works on classes where you can scroll down and up on their skills list. Also, you must have enough JP to buy a skill. Doing this cheat on the Summoner class will allow you to buy all of the skills, but the game won't classify Summoner as a mastered class.

When you go into a classes skill list, select any skill you can buy. When the confirmation window comes up and asks you if you want to buy the skill, hold Square. Press Up or Down while holding Square and you'll see that the skill list scrolls down/up as well. If you are highlighting a skill that can't be purchased yet and the skill you selected isn't on screen, then try to buy the skill. One of two things will happen: Either all of the skills can be bought or they can't. If none of the skills can be bought, check the JP for that class. If you have 0000 JP, then the cheat worked. This also applies if they are all available to buy. Exit out of the skill section, back to the Abilities setup screen. Then go back to the skill list you used the cheat on. You will have 9999 JP, more than enough to buy all of the skills.

Easy Ability Points in Final Fantasy V
For easy ability points (say, 4-8 per battle!) go to the basement of Bal Castle in World 2. Here you'll encounter Statues in groups of 2 (4 ability points) or 5 (8 ability points). However, you will most likely find yourself having difficulty with these stone warriors. Using a Soft potion will kill them instantly! Just keep stocking up on Soft potions and master all those classes that require hundreds of ability points!

Easy Kills In Final Fantasy VI
If you have learned vanish and X-zone you can use this trick. First cast vanish on enemy then cast X-zone. This will kill most anything in the game, but it will not kill Kefka (sorry you will just have to work for this one.)

Easy Exp. for Final Fantasy V
After you get Bahamut go to where you landed in the forest to get to Bahamut and to the right of it in the desert walk back and forth. One hit from Bahamut will kill them and U'll get 1200-1500 exp. for each one. When you run low just rest and repeat it.

Genji Glove in the Beginning of The Game
When you have Terra at the beginning of the game, where you tell Banon that you'll help take up the fight and he gives you a Gauntlet, well tell him no 3 times in a row that you'll help him, and after the 3rd time he sends you back into the house, you talk to the man and receive a Genji Glove rather than a Gauntlet.

Big Boost
(You need a turbo controller) You can easily boost your characters' levels near the beginning of the Lete River. At the first Save Point, go into the sub-menu. Go to "Cmd.Set", select "short" and Press the X button. You can now place Banon's Health spell in place of the fight command. This means that he will cast his health spell every turn. Back on the river, select to go up the river at the first intersection and then tape down the X button. The raft will then circle the area and your characters will fight and heal automatically. Leave the game running in this fashion over night, and the next day you'll find that your character's level has inreased significantly.

The third way is to beat Hades and gain access to the Legendary Synthesis Shop. You must have a White Robe, a Black Robe and 30,000 Gil to get a Robe Of Lords.

The fourth way is to steal using Zidane. Bosses like Ozma and Hades carry a Robe Of Lords. Equip Zidane's Master Thief ability, which can be learned from using Thief Gloves (which can be bought in Treno's Auction House) and Bandit ability, which could be learn from Mythril Dagger. Equip the N-Kai Armlet to ensure that Zidane has a good chance of stealing successfully.

Jump Rope Mini-Game
In Alexandria, have Vivi approach the girls jumping rope near the ticket both and talk to them. They will let Vivi join them. Press X every time the Mark appears over his head to jump. If you keep on jumping without tripping, you can receive some gil, rare cards, and a key item. The rope gets faster after a while so good luck!

Coffee Quest
Give the guy at the Watchtower in Dali the three coffee beans he wants and he will give you the Prima Vista figurine.

Here is where you find the beans:

Pass near the Chocobo Forest, around the right side of the screen. In the Madain Sari kitchen Disc 3, before finishing the Card Game (While you're waiting for King Cid) head to Dali and check the Chief's hut for a key to the previously locked door inside the windmill.

Alternate Ending
You have to finish the Stellazzio (Zodiac) Quest and keep "Shina's Hammer", which you find in the room after fighting Lich on disk #4. Don't lose, use, or sell/combine the hammer. It has to be present in your inventory for you to get the alternate ending.

Get Excalibur I and II
To get Excalibur
Buy the "Magic Finger" item at the Treno Auction early on. Once you reach Dargelo, give this item to an eldery man you meet there -- and he will give you Excalibur in return.

To get Excalibur II
This one is way more difficult. You have to get all the way to Hades in under 12 hours. After beating Hades, check the farthest right pillar for the sword.

Frog Catching Awards
The frog catching minigame may seem like a stupid waste of time -- but it can actually be a source of some good items and new weapons for Quina, plus the number of frogs Quina eats will power up the "Frog Drop" spell. Here are the rewards:

2 frogs: Ore Stone
5 frogs: Ether
9 frogs: Silk Robe
15 frogs: Elixir
23 frogs: Silver Fork
33 frogs: Bistro Fork
99 frogs: Quina's Master appears and fights you; just use standard attack/heal techniques and be around level 40. You'll get the Gourmet Fork for winning.

Land Spirits Locations
In certain spots of the world map you'll stumble across a couple of friendly monsters. They are land spirits and each of them will make a request from you. Fufilling their request enables you to be able to use the "Attack" command when you are fighting Ozma, who's unlocked in the Chocobo Garden by inspecting a large rock on the upper right hand corner.

You'll get Garnet's strongest Summon, Ark, from defeating Ozma but it is a very hard battle, so be sure you find all the land spirits:

Squirrel: Around Dali. Ore stone.
Ghost: In front of Treno (but not too far) or around the South Gate. Ore stone.
Ladybug: Around the Black Mage Village. Two Ore stones.
Yeti: Forest outside Madain Sari. Two Ore Stones.
Nymph: Forest near Iifa. Three Ore Stones.
Jabberwock: Forest East of Oeivell. Emerald.
Feather Suckle: Ice Continent, on the Chocobo tracks. Moonstone.
Galda: Forest outside Gizamaluke Cave after climbing rope. Lapis Lazly.
Yan: Bile Island (small island near center of map). It will keep running away until you have found all eight other Land Spirits. Diamond.

Here are the zodiac locations:

Aries: Dali; In the windmill all the way to be back (not downstairs).

Sagittarius: Linblum; in the left side of the 3d screen up of the Commercial Square.

Aquarius: Ipsen Heritage; right hand pillar at entrance.

Pisces: Treasure chest inside Invincible.

13th Stellazzio: Return to the Quan Cave that's east of Treno after collecting and returning all 12 coins.

Unlimited MP
Have Amarant in your party and make sure he has learned the Chakra skill. Also, the minimum MP needed for this trick to work is 4 MP. Enter a battle and have Amarant cast Chakra on himself. For 4 MP, he will restore MP equivalent to about 20% of his maximum MP. Continually cast it until you get reached your maximum MP. Since you can do this to other characters in the party as well, you can end up will everyone with maximum MP.

Easy AP
Walk around in the darkness for awhile in the field and forests around the town that has the Auction House and lady who collects the zodiac signs. You will encounter a ghost. Give it some ore and you will win the battle, resulting in 10 AP.

Defeating Ozma
If you encountered all the spirits in Gaia and satisfied their requests go to Chocobo Aerial Garden (you will need a Gold Chocobo and a Dead Pepper). Examine the stone on the second platform and choose the third option, then the first option to fight Ozma. To defeat Ozma, put Zidane, Dagger, Quina and Eiko in your party. Have Quina use Magic Hammer three or four times to steal all Ozma's Magic Points -- from now on it cannot use any spells. Then, have Zidane and Quina attack and Dagger and Eiko heal (do not use summons, you need a large amount of MP in this battle). With some of patience (an half of an hour if you are lucky), you should defeat Ozma.

Easy AP
Walk around in the darkness for awhile in the field and forests around the town that has the auction house and lady who collects the zodiac signs. You will encounter a ghost. Give it some ore and you will win the battle, resulting in 10 AP.

Zidane's "Lucky Seven" Skill
Zidane's "Lucky Seven" skill is going to work when the single-digit of his HP is "7" (e.g -> 1007). It is going to cause a random damages of "7", "77", "777" and "7777". However, if the single-digit of his HP is not "7", then the damages it is going to cause will always be "1".

Battle Setup
Two must-have abilities for the entire party is auto-haste and auto-regen don't worry about equipping abilities like auto-potion because when you get further in the game the enimies will cause a lot more damage auto- potion and even beast killer, stone killer, ect are abilities that should only be used in the first 3 discs.

Easy Lifa Tree Defeat
To defeat the "soul" of the Lifa Tree just have Dagger or Eiko in your party, then just cast life on it. The boss is a dead (zombie) monster so bringing it back to life would be like killing it.

Kuppo the Moogle in the underground excavation tunnel
In the underground excavation tunnel on the second disk, you can borrow a guy's pick by trading him a potion. You can find this guy right past the 3rd(exit) switch. Climb past the vines and talk to the guy to get his pick. On the top level, go to the very far right and face the wall that looks bumpy. Start digging and shortly a moogle will pop out.

Griffin's heart
You want to make 10,000 gil easily? Well then go to the Treno auction and buy the Griffin's heart on disk 4. After you do that, go to the adventerer wandering by the Members Only tea party. Talk to him and he first will offer you 8,000 gil, select to No Way! he'll make an offer for 10,000 gil. Thats the highest amount you can get for griffin's heart.

Final Fantasy 8 PlayStation 1 Cheats

Better combo for zells limit break
Instead of doing those complicated combos just do the two simple ones. It takes off more damage than the other ones because you can do it more.

Easy ways to kill t-rexaur
-put it to sleep before you start attacking it
-use triple and then cast death on it usually it dies on the 2nd or 3rd time
-use doomtrain. it will give t-rexaur different status problems like sleep, doom, confused, etc.
-use attacks that it is weak against
-use shivas doom ability
-try and turn it into a card

Hints
Draw early on in the game
Speed is everything
Be careful, save every 20 minutes
Keep Squall in Yellow, it's fun
Keep your G.F.'s happy, but don't use them too often, your SeeD rankings go down... just like running away a lot.
Try finding the enemy's weakness and exploit, exploit, exploit!
If at first you don't succeed, try again!
Draw from all bosses, never know what you can get!
Have lots of fun!
Play cards alot, and morph almost every new monster you come across, sometimes more than once. It helps later in the game.
Spend you time drawing Melt from an enemy with Laguna in the 3rd disk, don't be afraid to stop the enemys to do so.
Too weak to kill an enemy? Use Melt to do maximum damage!
To use limit, use Aura or be at low health. If it doesn't apear right away, don't fret! Just keep hitting Triangle.

To get Squall?s 2nd best weapon in the 1st disk:
In Galbadia Garden go play everyone cards there, collect as many cards as you can. Then use Quazlcoat's Ability 'Change cards to Items' and change Toonberry to Cutting Knife, fight the guys around Gulbadia Garden to get a lot of Bolts, get 2 of the card on the 5th page-1st card, and turn 3 Adamantian turtles into Shell. You don't need the magazine to buy the Weapon, you just need all the materials, and it will show up in the shop, the magazines are for you to know what items you need. Details by Sniper Wolf

Keep your levels low in the first disk, try changing everyone you encounter into cards. In the second disk, get your level up high, enemies are easy when you are at lvl 100. For lots of AP, in the 2nd-4th disk, fight the Sabotendar (Cactus men) in the Desert by/on Cactus Island. For lots of Exp, go to the island nearest to Hell. In the 3rd/4th disk, put on encounter nothing (Diablo Party Ability) and run around Island nearest to Hell and Heaven hitting [Okay] button for the best spells.

The only cheat I found (Cheat as in W-Item type) was being able to junction one magic to 5 different slots, on the same character. First you need the magic, say Ultima. Have 100 of them on Squall or whoever. Now you need to have Ultima junctioned on let's say, HP. Your other 3 Junctions are (For only using on 4), Attack, Elemental Defence, and Speed, put any type of magic on those, just remember what you put (ie. fire on Attack, shell on Elemental Defence, and Haste on Speed). Make sure you have no other Ultima, fire, shell, or haste on anyone else! Now go to the Magic screen, put 1 Ultima on Zell, Selphie, and Rinoa. Then trade fire for your 1 ultima on Selphie, shell for the 1 ultima on Zell, and haste for the 1 ultima on Rinoa. Go back to the Junction screen and admire! Don't take off Ultima or they all will go. If you messed up on any of these processes, start over, or you will be missing Ultimas on a few slots. You can give back haste and junk to Squall afterwards too. The maximum slots is 5, but you can do 2 or 3. ****This only works on the Japanese****

Ultima Weapon is at the bottom of the Underwater Reaserch Facility, the place where you got Bahamut. There are pretty nasty enemies down there, so be careful, like it matters if you have everyone at level 100, which you should. Also, have Squall's Best Weapon equiped. First, you climb down the vine, then go hit the control panel, it will take off 4 points. In order to succed, you need 10 points left over. Go down stairs, now go to the other control panel and take off 2 points. Go down and hit the control panel nearest to where you came down, take off 1. Now there is another control panel there, hit it and take 4 off, go through the door that opens and add 7 points back on. Go out and go down, take off 1 point from the control panel and go on the elevator. Take off 4 points to get past this door, then it's a matter of fighting/walking down to the bottom. When you get down there, kill off Squall then finish the battle/run away. Use raise to bring him back alive, and keep him in the yellow. Hit the control panel and after a long sceen, you fight Ultima Weapon. The key to this battle is having Squall's Speed and Attack up. Use his D-Move on Ultima. It took me 4 limits to kill him.

To beat Omega, you should have Squall, Rinoa, and Quistis in your party. Have everyone at max HP, highest evasion, highest speed, luck, and highest power. Have Death junctioned to status defence and for status attack, I heard don't put holy, but I put nothing just incase. Have Eden at level 50 or higher and life at 9,999. Try to have Squall's Lionheart, and have Squall enter the battle with Automatic Haste (Cerebus' Ability). Give Rinoa the ability to cast Melt and Leviathan's Fullcure. Give Quistis Eden, try to have him very happy so he goes fast. Before you enter the fight, enter a battle and kill off Squall. Leave the battle and cast Life1 on him or use a pheonix down, slow down the batlle speed to it's slowest. In the battle, have Squall use his Limit and Quistis use Eden, have Rinoa cast Melt on Ultima, any order, just do it. If you can't get Squall's limit, keep hitting triangle until you do. Just keep pounding Omega until he dies. Have Rinoa absorb Ultima's or use Omega's Ultima's against him. Have Quistis keep casting Eden, and Squall keep using his limits.

To meet Omega, you first need to get your main party to the switching point near the fountain. Have your other party, from the entrance go up the stairs, to the right and in the door, go down stairs, then pull the rope for the bell... you should have 60 seconds to switch party members and all, but 10 seconds is used up by Zell looking up at the bell. Switch the party and go in the room straight ahead. Omega Weapon is hard to miss, so just talk to him.

Return To Title Screen
If you mess up while playing the game and want to return to the title screen real fast hit PAUSE, then hold L1, L2, R1, R2, while holding down the four buttons hit PAUSE, and SELECT at the same time. This will bring you back to the title screen instead of having to reset your playstation.

Easy Limit Breaks
Get into a battle, and wait until all characters time bars are full. Then keep hitting CIRCLE (TRIANGLE in the Japanese version) and eventually Squall or Zell will have use of their limits.

GF Boost
If you have a GF who has learned "Boost," this trick will work. While your GF is about to appear on the screen, hold down "Select" and you should see a hand pointing a finger on the "Square" button and a number next to it. Keep holding "Select" and rapidly hit "Square" This will raise that number which means more damage to the enemy. But make sure you stop when an X appears over the hand. If you don't, the number will start back at the beginning. Wait for the X to go away and repeat the process. The higher the number reached, the more damage caused.

Free Potion
Go to timber where you see the guards in the front gate. Get out of the screen and then come back. Do this several times until you see a man there. Talk to him the second time to get a free potion.

SeeD Rank Tip
This isn't a cheat, really, but I found it humorous. When you start a new game, WALK everywhere in Garden. It takes a little longer to get everywhere, but you're "Conduct Points" on your SeeD Test scoring go up (helping to bring up your rank!).

BTW, if you're bored, go to the classroom an @nd floor, and turn on Squall's desk. Read some of the things. Very funny! The Sorceress' Knight? No animals alowed in Garden? What? Who's J.I.? Poor Seifer.

How to find & Kill Omega Weapon
This is pointless unless you are in Ultimecia's Castle because this is where Omega is. You should also free your abilities first, he is very tough & has the ability to have 1,200,000 HP approx.

First you'll need the Giglamesh Card, Card Mod Ability, & some GF's with St DEF (or even better Status DEF X4 with Elemental DEF X4) If your GF has Elemental Attack choose a new one, or use Amnesia Greens & destroy it because Omega absorbs all elements. If Level 5 death works on your character(s) then junction death magic to your Status DEF!!! (EX: Character level 10 - Will Die! Character level 23 - Won't Die!). Ultima Magic, Full-Life magic, Flare Magic, and Shell Magic could help because it makes an awesome defence by letting you absorb every element (if you have enough of them & Element Def X4!). One more thing that is important to have is AURA MAGIC!!! You can draw this from Siefer in a few battles, or draw it from draw points in the Island closest to Hell & the Island closest to Heaven. If you think your levels are too small these islands will help you level! They have the toughest enemies in the game.
Lets see... Only a few more things needed. The GF's Doomtrain, and Cerebrus. For Doomtrain go to the Sorceresses Memmorial & pick up the item there... The solomon ring. Get 6 malboro tentacles, 6 Remedy Pluses (With MED LV UP), and Six Steel Pipes. Choose the item & Doomtrain will join you. Cerebrus you have to battle though. When you infiltrate Galbadia Garden (Disc 2) He's in the Light Beam in the center of the room (a little ways in the building. Don't worry, you can't miss him!). Pick a good team. I chose Rinoa, Zell, and Squall. Set Zell & Rinoa (or whoever you choose, but make sure you have Squall!) with the GF Ability one with Doomtrain & one with Cerebrus.

Set Squall, and one other+ with the Item Command. Choose any other GF's you like... Make sure everyone has the Magic Command Also! Squall must have his strongest Gunblade, the LionHeart, also! Before we go find Omega you should use the Card Mod Ability on the Giglamesh card & any other cards that you think will help! Set those items (the ones from Giglamesh, Holy Wars, first!). Holy Wars let your party become invinsible for a short period of time. If you have the Laguna Card you can get 100 Hero's from it. Hero's give 1 character invincibility for a short period of time. Okay. We should be all set now! Bring the Fighting party to the Fountain & make sure they're ready! Diablos & his Enc None will help if you have it! Now bring the other party from the front, to up the steps the go in the right door. at the bottom of the steps in the next room there is a rope attached to a bell. There is another Green Circle right next to it. Pull the Rope & it will say "A Monster Roar can be heard in the distance." Run to the Circle & Switch Teams. Don't forget to switch junctions if you did that before! Run forward on the straight path (Not left or Right!). Omega will be there! Run into him to start battle.

Ok, quickly use the GF Doomtrain & Cerebrus. Leave Sqall standing untill Cerebrus does his thing & gives you Double & Triple. Don't boost Doomtrain cause it will heal Omega... The story here is that Doomtrain will give Omega Vit 0!!! With triple magic cast Aura on all 3 characters. Whoever has the item command use Holy Wars. Hit him with Limit Breaks untill he Dies. This works... I did it! Rinoa's Limit Breaks are Helpful... especially Wishing Star! If you use Zell use O X then up down (or down up?) Then do O X again. If you type fast & Zell is strong he will do massive damage on Omega! Squall is important because of his special limit break ending, Lion Heart, possible only with the LIONHEART GunBlade! When Aura & Holy War wears off (Aura first), just do the trick over. Please note Aura wont give a limit break every time. just keep hittin O untill it does work! If it doesent work for a long time. It probably wore off! Keep these tactics up & you'll do fine. If you win, you'll get a Three Stars (Not that Great). You will get some good AP at least. This is mostly a challenge for the bravest fighters of Final Fantasy 8! You'll also get Proof Of Omega in your Tutorial Section (Under Information)!

Quick Escape
When running from the mechanical spider in Dollet, press SQUARE to shoo away the dog and you can run into the Cafe where the other SeeD candidates come out of. This has a downside because your SeeD rank goes down and you miss seeing the spider crusha car and Quistic pump it full of lead !

Get Giglamesh
On disc 3, right after you get the Ragnarok go to the Centra Ruins and put on Diablos' Enc-None, unless you want to fight Tornberry (that's a different story...). Go up the stairs and you will see a statue. Select the option [Take out the eye] and write down the code that comes up on the screen. Then keep on going up and you will see a statue with one eye. Put in the eye you have and then take both eyes out and write down the code that appears on the screen. Proceed up and then you will see a statue with no eyes so put both of the eyes you have in. Type in the code and Odin shall appear. Fighting Odin is easy because he doesn't attack but you'll get the Odin Card if you beat the time limit. After you defeat Odin he'll appear at the beginning of a randomly chosen battle except boss fights. In the last fight with Seifer, on the Lunatic Pandora, Odin will fight him but Seifer will see him coming and kills him. But Odin's sword is taken by a Legendary sword collector, Giglamesh. From now on Giglamesh is yor Odin except his attacks can vary, he can come into boss fights, and he appears any time in battle.

How to get the eden GF
After you get the ragnarok in the 3rd disc look around the sea until you find a structure. Land and go in the building. You have to follow a certain pattern or lots of enemies will attack you, even if you have enc. none on. Try to get to the glowing area in the middle. When you do, you will have to fight the bahamut gf.

After you defeat him you'll not only get him, but there will now be a hole in the floor. Now you will have to go down a bunch of floors and then some stairs. When you get down you will have to fight ultimate weapon. While fighting him draw the spell named eden and after the battle you will have the eden gf!

How to change enemies into cards
The card command usually only works after you have hit the enemy a few times and if it doesn't work the first hit the enemy and try again. This ability is really cool and helps to keep your level down so that when you fight the bosses, Squall's levels will remain the same and not go up.

Floating man
Go to the second floor hall of Galbadia Garden. Keep walking in the way of the man in the wheelchair. Sometimes you will see him floating around next to his wheelchair.

Card Trick
In FFVIII lose any card that you want more then one of, then win it back. When you go into Time Compression you should be able to get that card again even though you've already won it back. Also, when in Time Compression, you can challenge some of the CC members and get some level 8 cards that you already have. Now if you didn't have the chance to get all of the level 8 and higher cards before Time Compression then you should go visit The Queen of Cards in Time Compresion. If you already know where the escape pod from Lunar Base landed then just go there. If you don't then follow these directions. First you should get the Ragnarok. Then go South of Tear's Point just past the fence. (I suggest using Enc-None if you have it) Then just walk around until you enter the area where the Queen of Cards is and when you challenge her you'll be able to win any cards that you haven't had a chance to get but she has the Random rule, good cards, and is rather good herself so she's a tough opponent.

Easy Level and AP Gain
After getting the Ragnarok you can visit islands that you couldn't with Balamb Garden. For easy level gain you must visit the Island Closest to Heaven and Hell. These islands also have the best Draw Points on them thats why Enc-None will come in handy. The Island Closest to Hell is easy to find, just find the island furthest to the West. Now the Island Closest to Heaven is a bit tricky. If you go North East of Esthar, there are three Islands. The one to the right of the other two is The Island Closest to Heaven. These islands have monsters with extremely high levels. I wouldn't suggest going there unless your party members are atleast level 30. You can also find the rare monser, Malboro there so if your having trouble getting Malboro Tentacles for Doomtrain then you might want to go to one of them. But, the Malboros have Bad Breath which causes all of the abnormal status changes on all of your party members so you might want to give some one in your party Mug and stea!

Now to get lots of AP, go East of Edea's house, where theres a desert. The desert has Cactuar's which give you a whole 20 AP for every one you defeat. The Cactuar's have very little HP but you miss them a lot as well and they also run away during battles. There is also Cactuar Island where all you run into is Cactuar's. There is also Jumbo Cactuar who has a whopping 600,000 HP. I suggest not fighting him for a while. And don't worry, he is available to defeat any time during the game. But he is a rather good GF to have around.

Get GF Leviathan
When you fight the garden master draw from him, and you will see that he has the GF Leviathan. After you draw it from him you will get the GF.

Omega Weapon (Easy Method)
When fighting Omega Weapon, make sure Selphie is in your party. Use Aura on her, followed by Holy War. Use her Slot Limit Break to access The End, which will defeat Omega Weapon instantly.

Ultimecia Guide
You should use the same strategy used to defet Omega Weapon against Ultimecia. However, you may want to take out the use of Holy Wars to make your party invincible, because Rinoa can sometimes get the same basic thing when using Angie. I believe the attack was called the Invincible Moon. If nothing else, I suggest you have a lot of the Aura spell available, so that you can use Limit Breaks every turn. It also helps to have Squall's Lion Heart, because it causes around 100,000 points of damage when the Lion Heart Limit Break is used.

You may have noticed that the last couple of forms of Ultimecia can kill a GF in a single shot. Don't use your GFs unless you're protected by Holy War, Invincible Moon, or Hero. These make your characters and your GFs invicible to any attack. Outside of that, you must keep everyone's HP up and ensure that everyone is as fast as possible. If you boost everyone's speed through Junctioning and then cast Haste on the entire party, you can attack nonstop. Also, cast Triple on everyone (or at least summon Cerberus) at the start of the fight. This should make it a lot easier to heal everyone and to cast Aura on your entire party.

Also, don't try to equip everyone before the battle with Ultimecia. You'll spread yourself too thin if you equip absolutely everyone with GFs. Equip only the three you want to use the most, and then let everyone else get killed and absorbed. Soon enough, you'll have your main party of three and then you can really unload on her.

To emphasize once again, most of this is the same stuff used against Omega Weapon. If you follow this information and the strategy for Omega Weapon, you shouldn't have any trouble.

Remember when you named Squall's ring? Whatever name you give the ring is the name Griever will have. In fact, you'll notice that the profile on the ring is Griever's profile.

Chocobos in Final Fantasy VIII
Final Fantasy VIII chocobos are vary different and unique comparing them to the system of FF7. You don't breed them or do anything special like that. So really I find no interest in actually putting effort towards them, but I know there's a lot of chocobo lovers out there so what, let's do it! First off instead of going to a Chocobo Farm and getting Chocobo's you have to solve puzzles to get one in 7 Chocobo Forests. (Locations are listed below) If you solve the puzzle you can find a hidden treasure that allows you to have to never solve that puzzle again when you revisit that specific forest. Anways the Chocobo Forests look like any other forests on the World Map but they are Dome-Shaped.

Solving Puzzles
The goal in every forest is to call out Chicobos in a pattern that leaves only one Chicobo on the ground. This may take some effort in some of the forests. A lone chicobo makes its Parent nervous, and causes it to come out of hiding when you examine the baby. After solving the puzzle you can freely search for hidden items in that forest. If you find a hidden item the chocobo's will become your friends and will no longer hide from you in that forest. Though if you don't find an item and leave, then you'll to solve the puzzle again in that forest inorder to get the chocobo.

ChocoWhis Sales
Cost: 1000 Gil/700 Gil You can't catch a Chocobo without it. The first one will cost you 1000 Gil. Any replacement will cost you 700 Gil.

Hints
Cost: 100 Gil This is the most worthwhile service he provides. Chocoboy tells you the name of the forest you're currently in, and gives you a rather cryptic clue to help you solve the puzzle.
Buy Gysahl Greens

Cost: 600 Gil/Green These Greens can be used in battle to summon a GF-like Chocobo. The Chocobo GF hits your opponents with a flare attack.

Questions
Cost: 10 Gil For a pittance, the Chocoboy will answer questions about the ChocoWhis and about himself. This option won't assist you in catching a Chocobo, but it may prove useful if you're having trouble using your ChocoWhis.

Help Me!
Cost: 1200 Gil The Chocoboy is willing to catch a Chocobo for you, but at a high cost. Only selet this option if you really need a Chocobo and you don't want to deal with the puzzles. You can't find the hidden items using this option, so you'll either have to solve the puzzle later or pay this fee again if you want another Chocobo later on in the game.

First Visit to a Chocobo Forest
When you first enter a chocobo forest (does not mater which one) you well meet a little boy named Chocoboy. He'll explain to you about the whole Chocobo deal. He will offer you a ChocoWhis and teach you how to use if for 1000 Gil. Now you must have this Whis in order for the Chocobos to come for you so you might as well pay. This Whis is the tool for locating baby chocobos (chicobos) in the forests. The ChocoWhis has two modes on using it: "ChocoSonar" and "ChocoZiner". "ChocoSonar" is used to sniff out the Chicobos location. The "ChocoSonar" will produce a soft ping as you seach an area and it will change to a hight fast-pitch that is loud if you standing in the right spot for a chocobo to fall down. When that happens use the "ChocoZiner" mode. Blowing on this will send a Chicobo to drop from above or go into hiding if you're on the right spot. If you are not in the right spot, the Chicobo will steal your ChocoWhis and you'll have to buy an addition one from the Chocoboy for 700 Gil. So be careful alright?

Chocoboy Help
While attempting on solving the puzzles you can always go to the chocoboy for help. He's a very greedy young boy so you'll have to pay him. Here's a rundown of the things he can do.

Saving Rinoa
When saving Rinoa in the Socceress Memorial Hall, if you have an upgraded weapon with Squall, he will pull out a revolver.

Easy Chocobo Forest
Location :: At Sorbald Snowfield on Trabia's west coast, south of Shumi Village
Chocoboy's Clue :: "You only need to blow the whistle twice"

Beginner Chocobo Forest
Location :: Next to Shumi Village on Winter Island
Chocoboy's Clue :: "Try to find a spot where only one falls down."

Challenging Chocobo Forest
Location :: East of Edea's House, in the Lenown Plains on the Centra Continent
Chocoboy's Clue :: "Chocobowling with 4 bottles, 1 ball."

Tricky Chocobo Forest
Location :: On the Nectar Peninsula, along the east coast of the Centra continent, sough of Fisherman's Horizon
Chocoboy's Clue :: "Search carefully where the Sonar reacts."

Expert Chocobo Forest
Location :: On the south side of the Talle Mountains in southern Esthar
Chocoboy's Clue :: "Collect on outer side, then go in."

The Chocobo Sanctuary
This is the last chocobo forest in the world. It's in a place to remote that only someone riding a Chocobo can reach it. Nothing much happens there, but Chocobos sometimes congregate in this sacred place. After completing each of all the 6 forests (puzzle and hidden item) you can head to Chocobo Santuary. You can go there any time but for it to actually mean something go there when you are finished wih the Chocobo Quest. When all the 6 chocobos congregate, they will perform a funky dance just for you. Speak with the Chicobo and it will give you the Chicobo Card. Speak to him again and he will give you some Gyshal Greens, but it will also steal 600 Gil from you!

How to get There?
Get a Chocobo from the Chocobo Forest north of Trabia Garden. Ride it to the east onto the Heath Peninsula and "Examine" the ocean. There's a long strip of shallow water that connects Trabia to Esthar. Follow the shallow water and you'll enter Grandidi Forest. The Chocobo Santuary is almost directly to the north. To return to Trabia, simply speak to a Chocobo or speak with Chocoboy.

The Final Battle
If you have taken the time to aquire the GF Odin, and Seifer has slit him in half, giglamesh will come in handy. He may destroy one of the forms of griever. Also, the strategy for the Omega Weapon doesn't help at all. Anyway there are a total of five forms to fight, and i figured that the best way to do it is to equip each member with one GF, and have them constantly heal and cast aura on Squall. Trust me. I've done it three times. The end is really long but awesome. Just make sure you can constantly use Renzokuken on the enemy and it will be no sweat. You can try any way you want.

Vincent
After getting a Gold Chocobo or the Submarine, find the cave behind the waterfall in the middle of a continent. Vincent must be in your party.

Gold Chocobo
To raise a Gold Chocobo, you will have to breed a variety of others to get the desired product. You will first need the Chocobo lure to capture them. Once you have it, rent out six stalls at the Chocobo Farm. Each stall will run you 10,000 gil, so be prepared to shell out a lot of money. Now the first two Chocobos you need are a Running female and a Walking male. The Walking male can be found near the Gold Saucer, while the Running female is just west of Mideel. Capture two of them and then head back to see what you've caught. Choco Billy will rate each one you bring in. Be sure that you get a "good" Walking male and a "great" Running female. This is a good time to save your game. Head to the plains below Bone Village and steal Carob Nuts from the Vlakorados' (3 Carob Nuts needed). Now return and mate these two using a Carob Nut. Keep resetting until you come up with a Green and Blue Chocobo of opposite genders (either combination will work). You can use the same two ! Yellow Chocobos to breed again, but you will need to give them some time after a successful mating. Once you have the Green and Blue Chocobos, feed each of them 10 Sylkis Greens (See Chocobo Sage) and head off to the Golden Saucer to race. All of the initial Chocobos you get will be C-Class and will need to be advanced to A-Class (Tip: When racing, hold R1 + R2 to keep your Chocobos stamina up). Return once again to the farm and mate them together with another Carob Nut to get a Black Chocobo. Head to the snow-covered Northern Continent and look for the tracks on the western shore. Here you will find the Dashing Chocobo. Make sure it is in the "wonderful" quota and is the opposite gender of whatever your Black Chocobo is. Feed these newest Chocobos 10 Sylkis Greens each and race them both up to A-Class. At this point you will need to go to an island to the northeast of the Chocobo Farm. You will need to battle with the goblins there to receive a Zeio Nut. With any luck, when! you return and use it to mate the Dashing and Black Chocobos, you will get a Gold Chocobo!! The Gold Chocobo gives you access to any place you want to go on the map.

Beat Emerald and Ruby Weapon
If your having difficulty beating Emerald Weapon and you can't get the Knights of the Round consider using this method.First equip three gravity materia, one to each character, second if possible equip a mime materia to each character.
Next to one character, equip both the W-Magic materia and quadra magic materia joined to the characters gravity materia. Join an all materia to the other characters materia. Okay. Now when you go into battle all you do is use any level of demi on the Emerald weapon and it automatically does 9999 HP of damage to with every hit but at the end his HP will lower and a couple of hits with a moderately powerful summon spell and he's done for. Voila!

For this you will need Knights Of The Round with at least 3 levels. Phoenix summon with at least 3 levels. Shield with at least 2 levels. Final Attack with any level. About 3 mastered HP and MP pluses (you might need more). 3 Enemy Skills with White Wind learned (to learn White Wind, go to the grassy area of Junon until you fight a big green creature with wings. Manipulate it and have it use White Wind on your party).

You also need MP and HP absorb and the MIME command. Make sure you do NOT have the w-item, w-magic, and w-summon materias. Give everyone HP pluses untill it reaches 9,999 HP. Then do the same with the MP pluses
until it reaches 999. Equip Cloud with the Ultima Weapon and give him the following materia.

Combine the Nights Of The Round with the MP absorb. Give him Phoenix with Final Attack. Give him mime with HP absorb. Make sure that you only eqip these matiera on the Ultima Weapon if their mastered. Give him shield and enemy skill. Give your other party members the other enemy skills. Make sure Cloud has an accessory that will protect him
from Frog and Small.

Before you fight Ruby, get into a battle and have Cloud kill your other party members. Now go after Ruby. Start off by using shield on Cloud. Do NOT have Cloud bring the rest back to life.

Now have Cloud use Knights of the Round and just keep miming it until the Ruby Weapon kills you. When you come back to life, repeat the process until you've won.

NOTE: No matter what, do not use any limit breaks or regular attacks on Ruby. If Cloud becomes a toad, use white wind to heal him.

Recover Missing Items
Did you miss something important? Fear not. Once you get to disc 3 you can recover anything by excavating for it in the Bone Village.

Re-enter Midgar
It is possible to get back into Midgar after you have left (not including by parachute.) On disc 3, go back to Midgar and talk to the man standing outside the fence. He says he has misplaced his key and that it is probably back at the dig site he just left.

To find the key, go to Bone Village and tell the foreman you want to look for Normal Treasure. Place some of the workers up top in front of the tent and set off the blast. They will point to a spot on the ground, so have them dig there overnight.

In the morning open the treasure chest and you should have the Key to the Sector 5 Slums. Now go back to Midgar and go through the gate. Go back to Wall Market and go to the shop where the item machine was broken before (the one that shot at you), and try to use it now. You will receive Tifa's ultimate weapon.

Racing Trophy
When racing S-class in the Gold Saucer, You will notice many keen items you can't ever seem to get. Well you can get them all at once! Just win 15-20 races in a row! Ester will say "I've never seen anyone win so much in S-class before!" She will then give you one of each item, including the coveted Cat's Bell! This trick only works once, though.

Prevent Back Attacks
If your battle starts with a "Back Attack" hold L1 and R1 for a moment then release them. This will turn you around before your opponents get a shot.

Morph Enemies Easily
For an easy way to morph enemies, have W-Magic Materia, Gravity Materia + "All" Materia, and Morph Materia. Have someone else cast Reflect on the party, then have the person with W-Magic use Demi 3 on your party twice. It will reflect and hit the enemy six times without killing it, but will greatly reduce it's HP's. At this point, you can easily morph it.

Limited Immortality
Connect the Phoenix Summon and Final Attack materia in any linked slot. When your party dies, there Hitpoints will be completely restored. This makes killing Ruby, Emerald, and Sephiroth simple, just make sure you have enough Mindpoints to use the Phoenix Summon.

For more punch, add a Final Attack/Knight of the Round Table to the same weapon. Then when you die you'll resurrect and hit back HARD.

NOTE: This method is limited because you can only use Phoenix materia 5 times.

Knights of the Round Table
Ride the Golden Chocobo to the North-Eastern part of the map. There you'll find a hidden island with a cave. Enter the cave and talk to the red light to receive the "Nights of the Round Table" spell.

Huge Materia
To obtain the Huge Materia in Rocket Town, press Circle, Square, X, X as the passcode.

There are four huge Materia that can reproduce other materias if you can pass the requirements.

Blue - You must have Bahamut and Bahamut Neo. Take these to Cosmo Canyon and talk to the Blue Huge Materia and you will recieve Bahamut Eishiki (Zero).

Yellow - Master the Steal, Throw, Mime, Manipulate, Morph, Deathblow and Sense Materias, then talk to the yellow huge Materia to recieve the Master Command materia.

Red - Must have all 16 summoning materia at master level then talk to the red huge materia to recieve the Master Summoning materia.

Green - Have all 21 magic materia at master level then talk to the green huge huge materia and you will recieve the Master Magic materia.

Gain Limit Breaks Easily
When in normal status use a "Hyper." This will let your limit meter go up faster, so you can use your old techniques more. The reason for this is that one way to get your limit breaks gained is to use your old techniques.

WARNING: When you use the "Hyper," your status changes to "Fury," which will lessen your hit rate.

Another way to gain your limit breaks is to defeat large groups of enemies. Try this: When leaving the Nibel Mountains and heading for Rocket Town, you should see a group of forests when you leave the mountains. Try engaging combat there, because sometimes you fight large groups of enemies there. Such as a group of six "Battery Caps," or sometimes five "Battery Caps" and one "Valron." This might help in getting your limit techniques also.

Fast Materia Level-Ups
This cheat can only be done in the third disc. First, go to the Northern cave and look for mole like creatures with a star above thier heads, also holding a knife and a lantern. Steal an elixir from them and then run away. After that, look for these small creatures in a floating pot. They will say "Gimme' an elixer". Give them one. Then kill it. Each one killed will give you 1,000 AP. You can not kill them unless you give them an elixer.

Easy Money, AP, Experience, and GP
Go to the desert outside of the golden saucer and walk around for a while. Sooner or later a little cactus man will appear. You can't beat him with magic or weapons, but he can be defeated by summoning Chocobos or Mogs. If you manage to kill him he's worth 10,000 gil!

For better results, head for the Mideel Area (an island in the south) and look for Sea Worms. Each one you defeat is worth 1300 EXP, 200 AP and 5000 gil!

To do this trick, you need a joystick controller with rapid-fire settings and access to the Gold Saucer.

Go to Wonder Square, and up to the arm-wrestling game. Wrap a rubberband around your joystick so that it's pulled to the upper left diagonal, so that Cloud continuously walks into the arm-wrestling machine but not into the GP-trading girl. Now, turn on the rapid-fire for the 'O' button. Cloud will now repeatedly challenge and beat the wrestling game. Slowly but surely, your GP will increase. It takes a while, so it's probably best to set this up just before you go to bed at night, and leave it on while you sleep. By morning, you should have plenty of GP to buy your Gold Pass and the two secret Materia: XP-Plus and Gil-Plus.

Easy Accessories
Here's a way to get two very helpful accessories.

Ribbon: To get a ribbon you must go into the crater and walk around until you fight a Master Tonberry (a mole creature with a rotating yellow star above its head.) Attack him a few times and then morph him. He will turn into a Ribbon.

Tetra-Elemental: There is a small desert island in the south under the Western Continent. Land there with the Highwind or with a gold chocobo. Walk on the sand until you fight a small cactus man. Morph him a eh becomes a Tetra-Elemental. Note: I have had the best luck morphing with Yuffie simply because see deals 9999 HP damage each time. It may be a different case for you but Yuffie is usually the best morpher.

Defeating Savior Sephiroth
For this fight you will need: Knights of the Round, Zero Bahumut, and any other summons. Cure 3, Wall, "Mime", DeBarrier, Remedies and at least three Megaexlir's.

Start out by casting Wall on your party, then cast DeBarrier to take away Sephiroth's wall. After this has been done throw everything you've got at him, use Mime to cause major damage. During the fight Sephiroth will levitate higher, signaling he's preparing to cast Super Nova.

If you are above 1500 energy you should be alright, watch out for his Heartless Angel that will not kill you, but bring your health down to 1. Then use Megaexlirs. Keep up the endurance and Sephiroth shouldn't be to hard to beat.

Chocobo Tricks
While racing the chocobos, hold L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 to increase your speed. To increase their stamina, hold R1 + R2.

While choosing a chocobo to race, press L1, L2, R1, R2 or any direction to pan, zoom and rotate the chocobo you're viewing.

Cast Any Spell Three Times
To cast three magic spells in one round, first equip someone with a Magic Materia + "All" Support Materia. You'll also need Barrier Materia with the Reflect spell learned. When you enter battle, cast Reflect on the entire party, (your party). Then cast the magic spell that was connected to the "All" Materia on YOUR party. Even though you casted the spell once, it will be reflected and returned to the enemy hitting for three times! And for the same price of the usual MP's. What's even better is that if you have W-Magic, you can cast that spell twice, or two different spells (both need to be connected to "All" Materia) hitting for six times!

Ancient Forest
To get to the Ancient Forest before disc 3, simply ride up the hill with a black, gold or green chocobo.

Beta Materia
When you first go to the Chocobo ranch you have to catch a chocobo to avoid the Midgarsorm. Well, I figured out a way to get the powerful Beta spell before the second disc. You need the Enemy skill materia, a Fire materia, and any elemental materia equipped on one person.

MAKE SURE THE LAST TWO ARE ON YOUR ARMOR!

If you keep this character healed until Midgarsorm casts Beta you SHOULD be able to survive the spell. Then just finish him off. This is tricky to pull off but if done correctly you will be set for a LONG time.

First Summon
To get the first summon in the game, go to the Chocobo rnach for the first time and speak to the Chocobo. One of the answers initiates a little Choco-dance, and you then recieve the Summon.

The Safe in Nibelheim
What most people forget when trying to open the safe is that it's just like a real combination lock...so you have to go in more than one direction when inputting the numbers. Furthermore, unless you're fast enough, you'll run out of time if you try any other combination. The code is:

Right to 36, Left to 10, Right to 59, Right to 97

This means that you hold right and scroll through the numbers, then hold left until you reach 10, then hold right for the last two numbers. Don't forget to press O to verify each entry. When the safe opens, a Summon Materia (Odin) pops out, and you are assaulted by a big goon (how'd he fit into that little safe?)

This boss can be taken out just by attacking and using Limit Breaks. Magic spells (Fire, Ice, Lighting) that are at level 2 are also okay to use. Heal yourself and use Summon Materia (like Choco/Mog) and you'll win in no time. Aside from physical attacks, all this guy can really do is use a Bolt 2 spell on you, but it only does 400-500 points of damage to one character, so it's nothing to worry about. Rarely, he does a double-fisted hammer punch to one character that averages 2200 points of damage, though, so pack in some Phoenix Downs before trying to tackle him. If you blow off his red half (the one that uses magic) his physical attacks become more aggressive, so keep your HP up. Likewise, if his purple half is destroyed first, the Lost Number will use more mid-level spells, like Quake 2, against your party. It is possible to kill this boss without either part of it dying (by stunning it using the 'Choco/Mog' spell).

Not only do you get an item from the boss once you beat it (it's the manual for Red 13's Level 4 Limit Break, the Cosmo Memory), but there's also a gold key in the safe that you can grab (Key to the Basement). Don't forget to take the Red Materia!

Did the code still not work? Remember, the safe's lock is like a real combination lock. So, when you're turning to 36, you can either land on it or creep up to it, but you can't hit 37 and go back. This applies to the rest of the digits, too; you can't go farther than the number you want. If you do (i.e. you go to 09 when trying to get to 10), you'll have to start all over again.

The Sleeping Man
Get so many wins by fighting battles. To see how many wins you have, get in the Highwind or ride a Green, Blue, Black, or Gold Chocobo ever so slightly south and a little ways to the east of Midgar City, where you'll find a cave surrounded by mountains with a river nearby. Inside the cave is a sleeping fellow who (usually) tells you how many wins you've gotten so far. The last two digits have to be the same (100, 111, 255, 733, etc.)

When you have the correct number of victories, talk to the sleeping man. He'll toss and turn, then give you an item (Mythril). Next, go to the house on the penninsula near the Gold Saucer (you should recognize it since it's full of weapons inside). Talk to the man in the house, and when he gives you a choice, pick the top option. You'll lose the Mythril, but you now have the choice of opening the long wooden chest by the bed to get a Gold Armlet, or examining the metal lid on the upper floor at the end of the walkway to get the manual for Aeris's Level 4 Limit Break.

Note that he may give you an item (Ice Ring or Bolt Ring) instead of giving you a Mythril. Don't worry--just get another set of wins with the last two numbers matching and try again. You can keep earning more Mythril from him as long as you give the piece you have to the weaponsmith near the Gold Saucer.

Exchange Gil for GP
When you arrive at the Golden Saucer, there will be a man standing near the back of the screen (past the Save Point), who appears there about 1/60th of the time. If you talk to him, he will sell you one GP for 100 gil. You can buy up to 100 GP from him.

An easy way to find him is to enter the Saucer and leave, then enter again, but you'd better have a Gold Ticket or plenty of spare gil otherwise!

Aeris Reborn
Step 1: Obtain the save crystal where you can create a save point.
Step 2: Go to the church in midgar where Cloud fell down.
Step 3: Use the save point in the spot of ruined flowers (the spot were cloud fell).
Step 4: Save your game.
Step 5: Check your player roster and you will see Black Aeris.
